FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Because we strive to provide you with the best care at an affordable cost at Gateway Dentistry Group, we require all payment at the time of service, unless prior arrangements for payment had been made. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, debit, and cash. To clear up any misunderstandings or for questions regarding payment, please give our office a call, and our staff will be more than happy to help.

Please keep in mind that you are responsible for all fees related to services that you receive, regardless of coverage by your insurance provider. Before you need to pay for your services, we will make all potential charges clear. We will help you find a payment solution that fits your needs and understand what we expect you to pay.

Third-party financing is available through Medicard. Click here for more information.

DENTAL INSURANCE

Since your dental insurance plan is a type of payment you receive from your employer, how much is paid is decided via a contract between the insurance company and your employer. You receive better coverage in your plan if your employer pays a higher premium. While our office is not involved in the agreement with the insurance company, our goal is to help ensure that you get the greatest benefit from your plan that is possible. For instance, if your insurance provider requires reports or has specific questions about the services that you received, we will provide them with diagnostic reports and dental X-rays.

For your convenience, Gateway Dentistry Group accepts assignment payments from all insurance companies. While some of our more advanced options may require a deposit as confirmation, we will work with your dental plan provider prior to treatment to find out the portion they will pay and help put your mind at ease. Remember that you have the responsibility to understand how much of your treatment your dental insurance plan will cover. We can help you communicate with your insurance provider to the extent allowed under the law.

We want you to be confident that our team will always provide the best possible care, regardless of your insurance coverage.

BILLING & INSURANCE FAQS

We will answer the following questions in this guide:

  • Do you do direct billing?
  • Do you accept American Express?
  • Might I have to pay something even if I have insurance? I should have 100% coverage.
  • Will your staff know what my insurance covers and my maximum coverage?
  • How long will my insurance company take to contact the dentist about my predetermination?
  • Do you offer payment plans?
  • How much do you charge for a filling or extraction?
  • What is the cost for implants?
  • Why do I have to pay a deposit for a crown?
  • Why do I have to pay a deposit for surgery?

Please contact us if you have any other questions.

DO YOU DO DIRECT BILLING?

Yes, we do to most insurance companies who allow direct billing. However, with items that need additional paperwork, such as crowns, we have to submit your insurance claim manually with the lab bills.

DO YOU ACCEPT AMERICAN EXPRESS?

No, we accept MasterCard, Visa, debit, and cash.

MIGHT I HAVE TO PAY SOMETHING EVEN IF I HAVE INSURANCE? I SHOULD HAVE 100% COVERAGE.

All insurance companies have their own payment schedules for the services they cover. When insurance companies say they cover 100% of a service, they mean they will reimburse 100% of their fixed rate. However, their rate may not cover the total fee required by your dentist. Insurance companies also set annual maximum payouts. Consult your dental insurance policy for your specific amount.

WILL YOUR STAFF KNOW WHAT MY INSURANCE COVERS AND MY MAXIMUM COVERAGE?

We do not get a copy of each person’s individual insurance plan; therefore, it is the patient’s responsibility to know what their insurance coverage entails. Refer to your dental insurance policy or call your insurance company for assistance.

HOW LONG WILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY TAKE TO CONTACT THE DENTIST ABOUT MY PREDETERMINATION?

It depends on whether we can send the treatment information electronically or if it has to be mailed. If we can send it electronically, they will receive it right away. Sometimes we will know what they cover instantly. With mail, it will take at least 2 weeks for them to receive your forms and an additional week to review them.

DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?

No, but we do work closely with a third-party company to ease the stress of completing your treatment. We help patients in any financial situation find a payment solution that fits their budget. Let us assist you with choosing a dental financing plan that gives you affordable, sensible and effective care. Please contact us to learn more about our payment options. Our staff will give you more information about the financing process so that you can get the care you need.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR A FILLING OR EXTRACTION?

We do not give estimates without you seeing a dentist first as prices depend on the size of filling and which tooth it is on. For extractions, it depends on the difficulty of the extraction. We can give you a very general estimate based on our highest price if you can tell us which tooth you are having issues with.

WHAT IS THE COST FOR IMPLANTS?

Implants are not estimated without a consultation because treatment varies from patient to patient to help obtain best results based on their case. We will work together to find an effective implant procedure that fits your budget.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT FOR A CROWN?

We have to send the impressions out to an outside source to be fabricated, and we will not know the exact price until they return the finished crown to our office. Your insurance will not tell us how much of the lab costs they will cover until they receive the bill. The deposit ensures we have the funds on your account to cover that bill.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT FOR SURGERY?

Surgeries require a number of additional costs for nurses, anesthesiologists, and additional supplies. We also have a lot of patients waiting to come in. The deposit ensures patients show up to their appointments and follow instructions, which helps make sure the booked time is filled. Please ask us any questions about your deposit to help you put your mind at ease.
